Executive Vice President

Theodore G. Barlas, CIC, ARM

Executive Vice President Ted Barlas brings more than 37 years of insurance experience to his A List clients, with a strong background in brokerage and consulting, operational management, loss control and engineering. He specializes in complex risk exposures for large accounts and provides expertise in all aspects of day-to-day client operations. In addition to developing new business relationships, Ted continuously strengthens his insurance carrier and service provider relationships.

Before joining AssuredPartners Illinois, Ted most recently spent over six years with Alliant Insurance Services. Previously, he was with Willis HRH and its predecessor companies, HRH, the Hobbs Group and Hobbs Brook for 23 years, where he was a top leader in client retention and development. Ted began his insurance career with Fred S. James & Company and Liberty Mutual.

Ted holds a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University and the designations, Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).

First Vice President

Diana Jacobs, CIC

As First Vice President, Diana Jacobs brings more than 30 years of experience in commercial insurance to AssuredPartners Illinois, specializing in complex risk exposures for large accounts. Her areas of focus include developing and maintaining client relationships, creating risk management strategies, analyzing exposures and programs, and more. Diana works closely with insurance underwriters to customize and interpret coverages, and market complex property, marine, casualty, professional liability and executive risk programs. She manages policy-related documentation, premium allocation programs and internal and external resources to meet her clients’ needs.

Previously, Diana was with Alliant Insurance Services for more than six years. Prior to Alliant, she held the same risk management, client development and marketing role with Willis HRH and predecessor companies, HRH and the Hobbs Group. Before building her career in the insurance industry, Diana was a paralegal with major law firms in Chicago and Indianapolis.

Business Development

Peter Rutkowski

Peter Rutkowski was recruited to AssuredPartners Illinois after spending the last 15 years building a solid global footprint with clients in the logistics and transportation sector. His experience in all aspects of client relations, including new client onboarding, account development, service and retention, makes the transition to commercial property and casualty insurance a natural fit.

Grateful to be encircled with seasoned professionals, Peter utilizes expert resources to help clients in a variety of industries assess risk in all business areas. He takes a risk management approach to tailor programs to his clients’ specific needs and goals.

Peter resides in Naperville, Illinois with his wife, Stephanie and their two children, Nate and Charlotte. Passionate about making a difference, he gives back to his community as an active volunteer with Cub Scouts, Awana and youth sports-related work.

Eric Gilbert, MSM-RMI, CWCC

With over 30 years in the insurance industry, Eric as assisted in developing insurance programs for the self-storage marketplace. Over the past 10 years, Eric has sat on the North Carolina Self-Storage Association (NCSSA) Board of Directors to include Vice-President and other office positions.

Eric has earned his Master of Science Management in Risk Management and Insurance (MSM-RMI) from Florida State University, and a Certified Workers Compensation Counselor (CWCC). Currently Eric has been a designated instructor for the North Carolina Public Risk Management Association (NC PRIMA) assisting Municipal Risk Managers achieve the coveted ARM-P designation.

With extensive experience in numerous industry sectors, Eric’s passion is to work with but not limited to Self-Storage Owners and Operators, property management firms, real estate and construction firms. His firm provides all the product lines for business and personal insurance including tenant insurance along with other risk transfer instruments.
